Communicating with natural language
Facilitating meaningful conversations with machines for the greater good
To make artificial intelligence available for all, we need machines that can use natural language. We want machines to talk to people, breaking down digital divide. The algorithms that we seek can maintain meaningful conversations, and deliver knowledge and guidance.
For example, in our Social Health Bots project with SINTEF, Oslo University Hospital and the University of Oslo, we establish the knowledge needed to provide better and more efficient mental health services for young people through smart use of chatbots. We will use artificial intelligence with deep learning to build ground-breaking chatbots that can supplement, coordinate and improve relevant healthcare services targeting young people. Our goal is to facilitate information and social support for early intervention and long-term healthy behaviour.
